    This is an early blue Staffordshire cup plate from the 1840s or 1850s.....
    DAVENPORT IRONSTONE  FRIBURG
    in blue underglaze belt mark with crown...also has partial DAVENPORT impressed mark, but only a few letters are visible.....pretty blue transfer printed Friburg pattern on front.....4 1/4"across....Sparkling mint condition with no chips or damage. A nice clean cup plate with no stains. Cup plates were popular in the early to mid 1800s to hold the hot tea cup, while the tea was actually poured into the saucer to drink..
