This is a Late 1800 to Early 1900Moxie
fountain glass.
Moxie
originally was a medicine called
"Moxie Nerve
Food"
. Its creator, Dr. Augustin Thompson, was a Civil War veteran from Union, Maine. He created patent medicines to complement his earnings from his medical practice located in Lowell, Massachusetts. Noticing the popularity of soft drinks being sold at local soda fountains, Dr. Thompson reformulated his medicine and started selling it as a carbonated drink called
"Moxie"
. This glass is 4" high; 3" in diameter at the top; 2¼" diameter at the bottom and with a ¾" indentation. The glass is embossed on 2 sides with wording...
